Oldest & Youngest

Grandsons from 26 years to three years. Sean is working on his stick handling skills.
He held his lacrosse stick up & asked me take his picture. I guess he figured, he could see me so I must be able to see him. How cute?
Eric had some issues with his stick.
Sean waited very patiently for the repairs.
He is a very athletic boy! I know for a fact Eric told Sean that stick handling is stick handling & this is good practice for the best kind of stick there is,
a HOCKEY stick.
This is what you get after a can of grape soda and chocolate frosting off the top of a cupcake.

Bridal Shower

Fair warning, you are in for a lot of photos. If you are not part of my family or if bridal showers are not your thing, you may want to stop right now.
Elaine, the shower was held in her beautiful home, with the bridal party.
Mother of the bride, Leigh Anna & Mother of the groom.
One of the games, making toilet paper dresses.

Two beautiful tables.

The Topping girls. Just one of the many gift opening photos that I took.
Our gift to Leigh Anna.

The brides party; Jennifer, Amie, Leigh Anna, Kathleen & Courtney. Caroline was unable to attend, she was attending her grandfathers funeral.

Favors for the guests.

It was a wonderful shower and many beautiful & thoughtful gifts were received by Leigh Anna.

Annuals

Does this look like $62.00 worth? Except for the basket with the pink geranium, that is what I spent on the below flowers.
I did purchase several not so ordinary annuals this year but, $62.00 just doesn't seem right. I hope in a month the pots will look like I spent that much.

Deck Project

We choose a dark brown for the floor until we saw the color of the washed & conditioned deck when wet & liked how that looked. We are so happy with our new color. One gallon was applied today with second & third tomorrow.

Family of Geese

You will never guess where I photographed this cute family of geese???In my own backyard, really. I couldn't believe it when I spotted them walking across our yard yesterday afternoon. I wish I could have gotten a better photo. When I tried to move closer they did not like it.

Arrived home on Tuesday after being away for 12 days. I have lots & lots of photo's to share but unfortunately laundry, mail, unloading & putting away had to take priority. It's a three day weekend & it couldn't have come at a better time.

My Fashion Designer

While shopping in Columbia, SC with Amie & Leigh Anna, Amie spotted one of her designs in the Junior Section of Belk's Department store. It was the second time she saw one of her creations in a store, the first time was in LA and she actually bought it and gave it to me. This time it seemed like a bigger deal since it was on the East Coast and the store had it prominently displayed. I wanted to contact the store manger to announce the designer was in the store and she would sign the FANG tag with every purchase. Unfortunately, Amie would not let me. I even asked more the once.
Thankfully, Leigh Anna had her camera & was able to document my proud Mom moment!

Bridal Shower

I'll be attending the above tomorrow. Along with Amie, who's doing her best to figure out how to be a great Maid of Honor. To help her out I decorated a clip board to keep track of the gifts Leigh Anna will be receiving.
It should be a wonderful day.

Tip Thursday

We all know how important our cell phones are to us.  I personally could not live without mine; it is my life and my best friend.  I know this is a little over board, but I am just trying to get across how much important stuff is in there.  Not to mention they are expensive and a hassle to replace when they break.

So as an avid cell phone user, my tip for today is to always put your cell phone in a plastic baggy when dealing with the elements.  The baggy will protect your phone from sand, mud, water and whatever else you may come across.  The best part is, you can still use the phone while it is in the bag!  I text and talk right through it!

Happy texting,
LAGirl

Deck Project

The floor on the new deck is installed.
We thought this would be the end of the project.
Oh, no. We think we need railings at certain places on the deck. We just can't decide what and where. Also, shrubs &/or flowers need to be planted along the garage.
I'm also thinking I need to remove the planter below the window. I haven't mentioned that to Mick yet. He just built it last year.
What are your thoughts on railings, scrubs & the window box???

My father-in-law has been waiting a long time to join his beloved wife, Anna, yesterday was the day. They are united in a better place.
The last year was a difficult year health wise but, prior to that he lead a healthy and active life. When you reach an age of 80, with eight successful children and sixteen grandchildren, you've had a WONDERFUL FULFILLING life.

Photo Shoot

"When a red, red, robin comes bob, bob, bobbin along."
When my human pool of photo shoot subjects dry up, I have to resort to desperate measures. I think Red will be happy with her close up.
Showing off her trim figure.
Just like my human subjects, Red has had enough of her photo shoot.

Come back soon Red, I'd love to do a family photo shoot.
