Bottlebrush Trees

I've started another of my way to many collections, bottlebrush trees. The below photo was taken off the Country Living web site. The trees were dipped in bleach to turn into beautiful shades of ivory. They are new trees.

Below is my measly collection. The large tree I paid $8 for at an antique store. To much but, I had to start my collection. The small one I paid 25 cents. I was at my Mom's favorite thrift store and Donna found it buried in a box of Christmas decorations. A friend of mine said Michael's sold them by the bag during the holiday season. Hopefully they will next year. I'll buy a bag & bleach. Although, I'll still search the antique & thrift stores for the old ones.

Have a GREAT weekend. I won't. I'm boxing, bagging, trashing and sorting again this weekend.

Cardinals

I saw my Cardinals again last Sunday. At least I'm pretty sure they are the same pair that I saw the end of last month.
Guess I need to read the link on the post to find out if a pair of Cardinals spend
the winter together.
The photographs were taken right thru the glass of our family room window.

My life, the last two weeks has been tubs, tubs and more tubs.
Tubs that are filled & ready for the attic.

Tubs that are waiting to be filled, I've spent $200 on tubs the last two weeks. My life the last two weeks, has been bags for our local church thrift store. My life the last two weeks, has been sorting. Going thru magazines, ripping out decorating ideas & recipes and then passing the magazines on.Currently I only have two magazine subscriptions. This project won't be as time consuming anymore. I've only gone thru all the clothes in the house. Next, the BASEMENT and I'm afraid. It has not been a good two weeks and it's going to get worse.

Night on the Town

When you live in the North Country choices for a "night on the town" are limited. How about a walk in the local cemetery! We had a dog with us but she was not cooperating with the camera. The scenery was beautiful.
The old head stones were very interesting.
Finally Bella gets in one picture.
It was dark by the end of our walk.
Make sure you find the moon in the above.

Cardinals

One day during the last week of December I spied a pair of Cardinals out the living room window. I took the photos right thru the glass. Male or female?

Male or female?

I know which is which. I hope you do.

Lake Placid Part II

We were in Lake Placid the last week in December and all the windows were still decorated for Christmas. I loved this one. Another practice at boken. This was the outside of a restaurant on Main St.
Going green. This coffee shop is using spaghetti for stirrers. Loved the idea but not sure how practical it would be at home. We don't drink coffee, so I would have no use for this idea but, I do like it.
Posing over looking Mirror Lake.

Yes, there was shopping involved.
The streets were packed. Out of all my trips to LP it was the first time I could not find a spot to park along Main Street.

Another wonderful day in Placid!

Lake Placid Part I

Leigh Anna showing off Steven's first ever snowball, lucky guy. Guess that happens when you are born & raised in the south.

And they are off.

They need to use this for Christmas cards 2010!
Rumor has it Steven does not want to come back to NNY in the winter again. I guess that is what happens when you are born & raised in the south.

Operation Write Home

Crafting & wine is a good combination.
Crafting with friends is an even better combination.

Crafting for a purpose is a GREAT combination.
200 cards ready to decorate for Valentine's Day.
According to the Operation Write Home blog, our cards have been packed up and sent out to our servicemen & servicewomen.
Thanks for all your help Nicole, Janice & Terri. Especially Nicole, she did the bulk of the work during her stay in NNY over Christmas. We are going to make another batch, Birthday cards. According to the request to my email, when I notified Operation Write Home that I had sent our cards to them, Birthday cards are what they are currently in need of.

What do yo think, should GEL-Oh have some video?

SONY just came out with bloggie and it's only $200.00 well, $199.99. I would definitely get mine in violet. It is going to be released on February 1st. Well?

Snowflake Garland

New Year's Day, while everyone was napping, laying around, reading, watching television or movies, I cut out circles.

I used felt, tulle, netting, paper dollies & coffee filters to make the garland. I used my circle punch for all the papers & cut by hand the felt. Once I had all the circles on the fishing line I hot glued the circles to the line so that it would stay spread out. I sent my version of snowflakes back to California with Amie. She tells me it is hanging on her computer screen at work. I can just look out my windows to see the real thing.

Safari

During Christmas vacation Eric & I went on a safari and NO animals will killed on this safari. We were on a Photo Safari.

It was a beautiful day for a walk in the woods.

Not sure what animal this track is from.
It rained during part of our hike.

Eric got permission for us to walk on some private property.
Thanks Eric I had a wonderful time.
