Flag Day

You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the Grand Old Flag.

Tomorrow is Flag Day. Get out your flags, if you haven't already, and put on display. If you don't have any flags wear some red, white & blue. Wish I knew where all our politicians get their flag lapel pins, Mick would like one. I'll be attending our community Flag Day Parade on Saturday. Hope you all will be doing something you enjoy on Saturday and also on Sunday when we CeLeBRate and honor our Fathers. Here's to a busy weekend!!!

The photograph is of Mom's flag in her front yard.

I get to take tomorrow off, since I stood for a very long time watching everyone else in the BH Flag Day parade. The kids each have more than one group they could march with. The parade is always on the Thursday nearest Flag Day. Everyone lines up at 6:00, the very long parade starts at 7:00. Fireworks follow at the high school. We have yet to make it to the fireworks, because the parade is always during finals. This has never made sense to me; more than half of the marchers are teens. Why not have it on Saturday? I suppose that would cut down on our chances of getting Senator Farley, but maybe Hillary would come in his place. She's not very busy these days!

Mau, maybe you can get Eliot Spitzer too! He's an Albanian (what do you CALL a person living in Albany anyway?)and might be available. Of course, he could be on the multi-million-dollars-per-year public speakers tour with Hillary's hubbie.

Flag Day is a forgotten day here on the Left Coast. No matter. We have our stars and stripes posted every day.
