My father-in-law has been waiting a long time to join his beloved wife, Anna, yesterday was the day. They are united in a better place.
The last year was a difficult year health wise but, prior to that he lead a healthy and active life. When you reach an age of 80, with eight successful children and sixteen grandchildren, you've had a WONDERFUL FULFILLING life.

Photo Shoot

"When a red, red, robin comes bob, bob, bobbin along."
When my human pool of photo shoot subjects dry up, I have to resort to desperate measures. I think Red will be happy with her close up.
Showing off her trim figure.
Just like my human subjects, Red has had enough of her photo shoot.

Come back soon Red, I'd love to do a family photo shoot.

Another Work Weekend

Below is the step that was removed to be replaced by an addition to our deck. I'm in the process of designing a small bench to display planters out of the wood from this step.
The wood that will become the deck addition.
The cement that was poured last weekend. We got plenty of rain over the week and thankfully we found out it drains well.
There are always issues that come up when doing any project. The deck is now level. Mick had to get out his jack and raise this corner over two inches. It made a huge difference.

National Scrapbooking Day

In the US, this hobby has surpassed golf in popularity: one in four households has someone playing golf; one in three has someone involved in scrapbooking. From Wikipedia
Take this all you golfers. People make fun of my hobby. I guess they are the ones that are out numbered. Unfortunately, I won't be able to spend my day scraping. I have to spend it working the deck. : ( At least the golfer in the family will also be on the deck!
The above page, 8" x 8" was the last page I made, about two weeks ago.

Three Cups of Tea

Our selection for this month.

It was a recommendation from my sister-in-law Debbie, the South Carolina Debbie. It's a really good book, if you are interested in Afghanistan & Iraq and is a good current event/history read. Several members of my club also mentioned that they plan to give a donation to Greg's charity to assist with building more schools.
