New Year's Eve

On 12/31/08 at 9:00 p.m. p.c.t. we started celebrating 2009. We received calls from Donna, Eric, Kristen, Brittany & Meg. Since Amie, Maggie & I are from the east we decided it just felt right. Remember the last time I had Champagne? I had to get that in there since it was the highlight of our season & all week it was USC USC.
(New York New Year) I was not thrilled about going out. I figured it was better than staying behind not sleeping anyway being a worrying Mom.
Maggie - Amie's friend from home & Christina - Amie's roommate.
We stayed out until 3:00am. Which for me was really 6:00am. Needless to say, there was not much activity for the first day of the new year. I watched the Rose Parade twice. I needed to prepare for our float viewing on the 2nd!

Tip Thursday

Everyone knows about tying something to your checked luggage when flying?
I read that most people tie red onto their bag. I was one of "those people."
When I was waiting by the carousel for my two bags, a black & a brown, out of the bags that went by that had something tied to them, 2 black & 1 brown, ALL had red ribbons. The 4th bag with a ribbon was mine, also with red, I was happy when I spotted the hockey ribbon. Next trip I take, I'm tying another color ribbon onto the bags. I'll do anything to make flying easier.

Homework

While I was away having fun, Mick kept working away at home. Now that the living, dining & foyer floors are refinished he decided to remove the carpet on the stairs and refinish them. Of course it was much more work than he expected the job to be.
Like the other rooms he sanded, sanded & sanded. Then he put on a coat of stain and one coat of polyurethane. He needs to do more filling before the final coat of polyurethane. It looks so different with the carpet off. I wish I had taken a picture before he started. We have just about run out of projects on the first floor. WOO HOO

Home Again Home Again

I arrived home yesterday afternoon after being away since 12/23. I was able to spend Christmas morning with Eric, here we are a JFK, and Mick.
Then from Christmas Evening until yesterday with Amie. Here we are at the Rose Parade Float Viewing.

I have lots and lots to share about my trip and over 250 pictures. Of course I have piles of mail & laundry that needs my first attention.
